A project of the National Wilderness Coalition
Wilderness touches all of us whether we realize it or not.
Voices for Wilderness is a project that brings our stories together to help influence policy and remind us that wilderness is is part of who we are.
Add your voice to help to protect wilderness for generations to come.
Wilderness is for all of us. And every voice deserves to be heard.
Now is the time to share your wilderness story.
Stories submitted around the upcoming deadlines below can help National Wilderness Coalition members advocate for wilderness, inform policy conversations and show decision-makers why these places matter to real people.

In honor of July 4, share a story about why wilderness feels essential to the American promise of freedom, belonging and the pursuit of happiness. What wild place has helped you feel more free, more grounded or more connected to this country?

Ongoing: Speak up for the people who steward wild places
Rangers, scientists, trail crews, maintenance workers and other public servants make wilderness access and protection possible. Share a story about a wilderness worker who helped you, taught you something or made a wild place safer, cleaner or more meaningful.

“Wild areas are far more than lines on the map. They are headwaters of drinking watersheds, strongholds for great forests capturing and storing massive amounts of carbon, havens for biodiversity, corridors for wildlife, and sanctuaries for the human spirit.”
